چکیده

One of the most important policies adopted in inventory control is the replenishment cycle policy. Such a policy provides an effective means of damping planning instability and coping with demand uncertainty. In this paper we develop a constraint programming approach able to compute optimal replenishment cycle policy parameters under non-stationary stochastic demand, ordering, holding and shortage costs. We show how in our model it is possible to exploit the convexity of the cost-function during the search to dynamically compute bounds and perform cost-based filtering. Our computational experience show the effectiveness of our approach. Furthermore, we use the optimal solutions to analyze the quality of the solutions provided by an existing approximate mixed integer programming approach that exploits a piecewise linear approximation for the cost function. ⋆ This paper is an extended version of the work presented in Rossi et al. Multi-item inventory model with probabilistic demand function under permissible delay in payment and fuzzy-stochastic budget constraint: A signomial geometric programming method

This study proposes a new multi-item inventory model with hybrid cost parameters under a fuzzy-stochastic constraint and permissible delay in payment. The price and marketing expenditure dependent stochastic demand and the demand dependent the unit production cost are considered. Shortages are allowed and partially backordered. The main objective of this paper is to determine selling price, mar...

Vendor Managed Inventory of a Supply Chain under Stochastic Demands

In this research, an integrated inventory problem is formulated for a single-vendor multiple-retailer supply chain that works according to the vendor managed inventory policy. The model is derived based on the economic order quantity in which shortages with penalty costs at the retailers` level is permitted. As predicting customer demand is the most important problem in inventory systems and th...

Optimizing a bi-objective vendor-managed inventory of multi-product EPQ model for a green supply chain with stochastic constraints

In this paper, a bi-objective multi-product single-vendor single-buyer supply chain problem is studied under green vendor-managed inventory (VMI) policy based on the economic production quantity (EPQ) model. To bring the model closer to real-world supply chain, four constraints of model including backordering cost, number of orders, production budget and warehouse space are considered stochasti...

Demand-oriented timetable design for urban rail transit under stochastic demand

In the context of public transportation system, improving the service quality and robustness through minimizing the average passengers waiting time is a real challenge. This study provides robust stochastic programming models for train timetabling problem in urban rail transit systems. The objective is minimization of the weighted summation of the expected cost of passenger waiting time, its va...

Multi-commodity Multimodal Splittable Logistics Hub Location Problem with Stochastic Demands

This study presents a multimodal hub location problem which has the capability to split commodities by limited-capacity hubs and transportation systems, based on the assumption that demands are stochastic for multi-commodity network flows. In the real world cases, demands are random over the planning horizon and those which are partially fulfilled, are lost. Thus, the present study handles dema...
